Anticipation

They just can't wait to get in for the first time. Every spring brings anticipation for summer activities. They LOVE to swim. Grandpa thinks they are part fish.

Debi and Keith made a wonderful summer-time dinner. Grilled burgers, fruit, macaroni salad and strawberry shortcake.

We had a wonderful time at the fine arts competition. Madison placed first over all in Science for her division and third overall in the spelling bee. Mia took home a second place ribbon for History. Forgive me for bragging just a little. It's a bit more acceptable from a momma, right! God has blessed my girls with an amazing Christian based education. I am also so thankful for a Pastor who invests so much in all of our children. Thank you Lord for EVERYTHING!

Is it wrong that I have asked her not to come down this way because the stair rail is origianl to when the house was built (1929) and it might not be the safest thing to do? Or is it wrong that this time I did not scold her but instead took her picture?!

Garden time

Today was the perfect day to start the garden. Last year we started everything from seed. It was really fun to watch the plants sprout. We decided to have a head start this year. Mia chose a tomato variety called, 'Mamma Mia'. Funny thing is, she only likes a tomato in its liquid form. I think she was sold on the name. Madison was excited to plant her favorite green veggie- zucchini. Keith was all about the beef steak tomato and I chose chives and basil. We will add pumpkin and strawberry plants soon.

I am just starting to process the wonderful gift of our church revival. God is so revealing and perfect in His timing. He has shown me so much this past year and I am so thankful for His grace. I really can't explain the impact of the messages Pastor Fisher delivered to us.

More rain?

A perfect day

Is it weird that we have had ladybugs visit us, indoors, all winter? We find them just hanging out. Madison has had a few in her room. I have found a few in my room. This little guy was on the couch. I was vacuuming the window sill and there he was. Good thing he didn't get sucked up!

I am glad our bug visitors are of the cute kind :)

Enjoying the rain

I have been a bit busy lately to stop and update. My sil put a cool tree picture on her blog that she took and I decided to share the ones that I took just last Saturday. I have a collection of tree photos that I just love. I love the various shapes and sizes. I took this one of a tree in our backyard..It is a very large Oak. The original picture looked like it was in b/w because the the grey skies. I played around a bit and added a blue sky. Kind of fun.
We have been enjoying the rain as it has been soooo long since we had decent rainfall. I think I heard a statistic of maybe as long as last April. We were blessed with a few days of rain in December but it wasn't enough to make a difference.

I thought they would be pink

The camilla flowers turned out to be a beautiful shade of red. All around the yard there are signs of an early spring. Today was a beautiful day. Thank you Lord for the beauty all around us.

Today was also a very special day for two special girls in our family.
